Policy for CMBA participation when invited to practitioner-initiated events

The Board has decided that:

  • Participation will be limited to presentations at national conferences of the peak associations rather than also attending meetings of the State/Territory branches of those Associations.
  • Exceptions may be made for example where:
    • a State/Territory Association is helping with organising a Board initiated event to which all relevant practitioners are invited, or
    • a Board road show presentation is in the smaller States or Territories like the ACT or Tasmania or for rural and remote practitioners
and in such cases, representatives rather than the full Board will attend.
  • On occasions, it may be important for the Board to be represented at special events such as launches of important publications or opportunities to meet with national or international experts.
  • When accepting invitations, the Board will pay for its own travel and accommodation costs, although it may accept waiving of registration fees if presenting at a conference.

In each case, the Board will base a decision about whether to approve participation on the basis of cost, benefits and alignment of the event with the objectives of the NRAS.
