The Accreditation Committees for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practice, Chinese medicine and medical radiation practice professions are undertaking public consultation as part of a project to develop revised accreditation standards.
Released: 29 August 2018
Closes: 15 October 2018
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice, Chinese Medicine and Medical Radiation Practice Accreditation Committees (Accreditation Committees) are undertaking a joint review of their current accreditation standards. Accreditation standards are used to assess whether a program of study (and the education provider delivering the program) provide graduates with the knowledge, skills and professional attributes necessary to practise the profession competently and safely in Australia.
The Accreditation Committees are seeking to consult on their draft revised accreditation standards, and invite feedback from education providers, practitioners, other stakeholders and the community. In addition to general feedback, they are interested in feedback on specific questions.
Feedback can be provided by sending a written submission by email, to firstname.lastname@example.org. This should be provided by close of business on 15 October 2018.
The Accreditation Committees will take feedback into account in finalising the proposed revised accreditation standards before submitting them to National Boards for approval. Feedback will also be considered in the review of accreditation processes.
Submissions to this consultation may be published on the AHPRA website. There may be circumstances under which submissions may not be published. Published submissions will include the names of individuals and/or organisations that made the submission unless confidentiality is requested.
