In 2025, the accreditation committee for Chinese medicine invited feedback on its draft updated accreditation standards.
Accreditation standards are used to assess whether a program of study provides graduates with the knowledge, skills and professional attributes required to practise the profession safely and effectively in Australia.
The purpose of this review was to update existing standards to reduce duplication, improve consistency across the four professions, and ensure alignment with the priorities of the National Scheme.
The consultation period was open from 30 April 2025 to 25 June 2025.
A summary report outlining the feedback received during the public consultation and stakeholder submissions will be published in due course. Please check this page for updates.

The Forum undertook a project to ensure all graduates of entry-level health practitioner programs are educated to a foundational level in the safe and effective use of medicines, as appropriate to their scope of practice. To achieve this aim, the Forum developed a framework for accreditation requirements for the safe and effective use of medicines, which is proposed for adoption across the professions.
The Forum sought stakeholder views on the proposed framework, which was presented along with a set of consultation questions in the discussion document available on the Forum website. Public submissions could be made during the six-week consultation period from Tuesday 9 October to Tuesday 20 November 2018.
